In this workshop, we will explore the role of the Heart and its channel in Daoist thinking and Chinese medicine. By cultivating and invigorating this channel with Pranayama, Meditation, movement and the Heart sound from the Healing Sounds Qi Gong practices, we will enliven the tools to live a life in harmony with ourselves, each other and all of life.
In Daoist thought, the Heart houses our Shen or Spirit, that tiny spark of the mysterious Divine residing in each of us. In modern language we might call this the Heart-Mind. It is said that the natural state of the heart is open and engaged with life much like that of a child. When the Heart is unburdened, we can live a joyful, satisfying life where we are able to create loving and nourishing connections.
In this workshop, we will evoke and immerse ourselves in the consciousness of the Heart and its pathway, so we may embody and feel it within. The Heart is the entry- point to an inner alignment with our Spirit’s purpose and that which allows us to retain our connection to the Dao.
Emma will lead us through Meditation, Pranayama and a powerful yang practice to flow into a deep Yin practice. We will:
Walk the Dragons
Walking the Elephants
and remind ourselves of our role as the bridge in Golden Seed
THIS WORKSHOP INCLUDES:
A Yang Asana practice exploring vigorous and flowing Taoist movements Yin yoga married with a Heart channel and healing sound meditation The Jade breath for the heart
Yoga theory and Philosophy
Guiding our minds through Meditation, nourishing Qi through Pranayama, smoothing and soothing Qi through Asana, we bring the stability of presence so we may move into the subtle depths within.
The question will be, can we allow ourselves to feel, listen and touch this spark of the Great Divine within us with our entire being and then, follow what arises with full devotion.
